Top Ways to improve your SEO strategy

Every blogger wants to rank his blog. And you know this will be done with Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). For this, you have to make some SEO strategy. Your SEO planning helps you to increase SERP. Here I provide some strategy that will help you to create your SEO strategy.

Keep an eye on what your competition is doing:

Whether a startup or an already established business, whether an online store or a retail outlet, you must keep an eye on what your competition is doing to either upgrade, replicate or keep track. With this you can find out your compititor’s SEO strategy. There is no argument in saying that ‘change is constant’ and hence today or tomorrow, someone would bring the revolutionary change without any notification. For this very reason, know who your customer is and keep a close eye on them to either start a follow-up strategy or do something even more innovative as you have may already lose the first mover option.

Finding the right keywords is the key to being visible to your target audience. First of all know which target audience you want to serve or cater and realize what their most commonly used phrase, terms or keywords are. For example, you might be running an online store of shirts, and hence your keyword would be like ‘best shirts’ ‘shirts on sale’ ‘quality shirts’ etc.

These keywords, however, may change based on the category you are targeting, but the product that you are selling should be part of your keyword.

Optimize title and Meta tags:

Meta tags and HTML titles must be different on every page of your site. Since everyone wishes to rank on the very first page of Google, experts have recommended keeping the two options different from one another. Furthermore, Google has announced that their ranking criteria do not consider Meta keywords tag which would restrict its discussion over here.

Optimize your headings, subheadings and more:

In high school and colleges, essays are written using the guidelines of MLA which explain how to write a cover page, paragraph length, title, reference citation and more. Online, we follow the guidelines of W3C commonly known for its superior practices for managing and organizing a web page.

Adding it to the root of your website would make your user’s experience far more superior than ever before. Open up a text editor, and type “user-agent”, save it as robots.txt file and finally upload it to your domain into your root directory. This only command would tell any spider ‘to crawl every page of my website’.

Get a head start by identifying and analyzing the broken links. In case if you have a lot of broken links, it may take some time, but it would benefit you in the long run.

Furthermore, validate your SEO by either contacting an SEO consultant or if you have that skill, you may do yourself.

Not every article is supposed to generate peak success as the modern world has too much competition fighting against each other. Working hard is not the key, working smart is the new genius. Generic content cannot be emerged together and uploaded online hoping that it would get ranked quickly. However, if the content has some of the following qualities, it would help you gain traffic one way or the other:

  • The content must be original
  • The content must be useful
  • Linking is important to it
  • Facts uploaded are factual and not made up
  • Should be detailed enough
  • A bit of humour or fun wouldn’t hurt anybody
  • Adding videos and graphics to remove jargon
  • Don’t go blah, blah, in writing your content
